Children from Maaya Primary School
Classroom in Maaya Primary School - bursting at the seams!

Water tank of the kind that the team plans to build for Maaya Primary School
The team. (Names are given on the bigger view)
The OTS Committee has been approached by former KEVICC students who left the College in 2000.
They are raising funds to allow them and a group of friends to build a new classroom, staff accommodation and water tank for Maaya Primary School in central Uganda.
One of the leaders of the group and a former KEVICC student, Mark Errington, has had previous experience with two projects of this kind. His first 'New Build' took place in December 2003 (whilst completing his final degree year). Mark and his cousin built two school buildings in the Gulu district of Uganda with the help of local people.
A number of past students raised money for the second project, including Katie Rolls, Mike Drury, Pascal Checkley and Alice Haynes. The year of fundraising culminated in Mark and another past student, Rachel Drew, joining a team of 20 which built workshops and classrooms for a vocational training centre in the Gulu district in June and July 2005.
For the third project, "New Build Uganda 2006" the team needs to raise £20,000.
Their request for support was enthusiastically received by the OTS Committee who felt that the best way to proceed would be to invite individual OTS members to make donations.
Any sum will be welcome, from £1 to £1000.
Please give generously!
This is an opportunity for OTS members to support a very worthwhile project by recent KEVICC students.Donations will be collected into a fund that will be presented to the team on behalf of the Old Totnesian Society at a time that will be most effective in terms of planning. The most likely date will be May 2006.
