Sarah Farmer
Life at the Cutting Edge: A Woman in Surgery

Sarah Farmer is a Specialist Registrar on the All Wales Higher Surgical Training Programme in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery) and is currently working at Singleton Hospital in Swansea. She was born and raised in Devon, attending Diptford Parochial Primary School and then King Edward VI College, Totnes (1988 –1995). She graduated from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in Cardiff in 2001 obtaining MB BCh with Honours and a First Class Honours degree in Pharmacology. She has worked as a demonstrator in anatomy and has a genuine interest in medical education. She has experience of full-time research having completed an M.Phil. at the world renowned Common Cold & Nasal Research Centre in Cardiff. She is also an active member of Women in Surgery (WinS), an organisation set up to address the serious under-representation of women in surgical specialities.All members are invited to attend this lecture.
